GOOGLE MAPS-POWERED CROWD ROUTE PLANNING

Model every journey to every gate—on paths people can actually walk.

CrowdRoute turns transit origins, parking, venue circulation and gate access into a controlled, evidence-traceable network for crowd-safety decisions.

Built for competent crowd-safety and event-operations professionals. Outputs remain subject to verified inputs, local authority alignment and professional review.

HOW IT WORKS

Regional routes and venue circulation belong in the same model.

CrowdRoute preserves the distinction between transport approaches and close-up gate circulation while connecting them end to end.
REGIONAL

Origins to venue access

Discover relevant transport and parking locations, route them along Google’s walkable network, and identify the points where flows converge.

VENUE

Perimeter to named gates

Place up to 100 individually named gates, shape paths around controlled perimeters, and check that every gate has a complete routed chain.

CONTROL

Demand to decisions

Allocate groups, test natural and managed conditions, expose shared-segment pressure, and export an evidence-led operational record.

ILLUSTRATIVE WORKED EXAMPLE

See the route output before subscribing.

A fictional transit hub, one shared approach and two gates. View assumptions, compare the five scenarios and inspect a representative report.

Illustrative synthetic data only. No real venue, survey or Google Maps content. Not a certified safety plan and not suitable for operational use. No sign-in, upload, map request or route allowance is needed. Viewing this example does not create or change a saved project.

The assumed network

Fictional arrival networkBoth routes share the transit hub to west plaza segment, then split toward Gate North and Gate South. The north branch closes in the degraded scenario. Schematic only, not to scale.Transit hubWest plazaGate NorthGate SouthNorth branchShared SEG-01

Schematic only, not to scale. Dashed north branch closes in the degraded scenario.

  • 10,000 expected people: 8,500 general admission and 1,500 hospitality/workforce.
  • Eight 15-minute arrival bins; 10% buffer, capped by assumed group inventory. Configured capacity: 12,000; total inventory: 10,800.
  • Natural north/south shares: 60/40% for general admission, 25/75% for hospitality/workforce. Managed shares: 50/50% and 15/85%. The model uses these shares directly; recorded compliance assumptions do not apply a further adjustment.

Expected / natural output

Shared SEG-01 receives both routes: 2,125 people in its peak 15-minute bin (T+1h), 141.7 people/min against 288 people/min effective capacity.

Indicative route results using assumed geometry
RoutePeopleTravelMax segment utilisation
Transit hub to Gate North5,47510.6 min49.2%
Transit hub to Gate South4,52512.0 min49.2%

Travel time uses assumed segment length, speed and control delay. Utilisation includes concurrent demand from both routes on the shared segment. These are screening calculations, not observed travel times or verified capacity.

Model readiness: NOT READY — INPUT BLOCKERS. The normal validation blockers remain visible: this schematic has no controlled walking geometry or professional review. A scenario calculation status is not safety approval.

The degraded scenario closes SEG-02 and renormalizes available shares toward Gate South. No egress, evacuation, vehicle traffic or gate-search model is included.

Inspect the assumed profiles and segment inputs

All inputs below are invented. Profiles list percentages for successive 15-minute bins from T0.

  • General admission: inventory 9,000; natural 4 / 8 / 13 / 19 / 22 / 17 / 11 / 6; managed 6 / 10 / 15 / 18 / 18 / 15 / 11 / 7.
  • Hospitality and workforce: inventory 1,800; natural 8 / 14 / 18 / 20 / 17 / 12 / 7 / 4; managed 10 / 16 / 19 / 18 / 15 / 11 / 7 / 4.
Assumed specific flow for every segment: 60 people per metre per minute
SegmentLength / usable widthSpeedBase / degraded factorDownstream cap / delay
SEG-01: Hub to west plaza280 m / 6 m1.1 m/s0.8 / 0.75None assumed / 0 s
SEG-02: Plaza to north split190 m / 4.2 m1.05 m/s0.75 / 0.65None assumed / 20 s

SEG-04: North split to Gate North150 m / 5 m1 m/s0.75 / 0.7240 people/min / 30 s
SEG-05: South split to Gate South170 m / 5.5 m1 m/s0.75 / 0.7260 people/min / 30 s

Effective capacity is the smaller of (usable width × specific flow) and any entered downstream capacity, then multiplied by the base factor. The degraded factor also applies in the closure scenario. Moving density is flow ÷ (speed × usable width × 60). These values are assumptions for this example, not recommended design standards.

## 1. Decision answer

The model is not ready for decision use because 9 critical input or reconciliation issue(s) remain.

The model supports this decision question: **How do assumed arrival profiles, route shares and closure of the north branch change indicative segment loading?**

It does not replace venue inspection, licensed design, statutory approval, emergency command judgment, accessibility review, or event-day monitoring. Its conclusions apply only to the stated geometry, attendance, time profile, route-choice, management and degradation assumptions.

## 2. Executive findings

Before you choose a plan

Project storage and backups. Editable projects and autosaves stay in this browser, isolated by your signed-in account. CrowdRoute does not currently upload or cloud-backup them. Export and securely retain .crowdroute.json backups for transfer or recovery. Clearing site data, changing browser or device, or browser removal of local data can leave work unavailable.

Map refresh and route usage. Google walking distances and durations stay in the open session; reloaded or imported projects need a walking-distance refresh. Newly retrieved Places coordinates and route geometry expire from controlled topology after 30 days and need refresh or recalculation. Operator-authored IDs and fields remain. Google route and matrix calculations use your plan allowance.

See the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for the current storage, backup and licensed-content requirements.
